2/18 Swim Meet Logistics & Events
Good morning parents! We're excited to compete tomorrow! This will be an intra-squad/time trial meet. Swimmers will be competing with their peers on the team. This meet is shorter than typical (only 40 events) and is estimated to take about two hours starting at 9am. Since some older swimmers have more events to swim than younger swimmers, we have built in three (3) breaks throughout the meet to give swimmers time to recover, volunteers to rest, bathroom breaks, buy concessions, etc.
Schedule:
| Time | Task | Where |
| 8:00 - 8:25 | Arrive and set up | Northside Pool |
| 8:30 - 8:45 | Warmups (all swimmers should have arrived by 8:30) | Pool Deck |
| 8:30 | Set up Concessions (Volunteers who signed up) | Lobby |
| 8:45 | Volunteers Meeting (Timers, Clerks, Runners, etc.) | Lobby |
| 8:50 | Team Picture (Wear your NSD shirt!) | Pool Deck |
| 9:00 | National Anthem | Pool Deck |
| 9:05 - 11:00 | Compete! | |
| 11:00 - 11:30 | Breakdown and Clean Up (Everyone) If you donated concessions, please retrieve your leftover donation to take back home. | All Areas |
Pool Logistics are below:
- See diagram for logistics on where parents and swimmers should set up and remain during the meet
- Parents should remain near the lobby on the bleachers or with your own chairs.
- Swimmers should set up and remain in the fenced off area next to the women's locker room. (Swimmers can return to their parents during breaks or as-needed.) This is very important for our Clerks and Shepherds to be able to gather the swimmers in time for their respective events without delay.
For First Timers:
- Please see the attached Athlete Event Sheet PDF and find your swimmer. This will outline which events they will compete in, which heat, and which lane. Some parents/swimmers like to write the events on their arm so they can reference it. See explanation below:
- Also attached is the Meet Heat Sheet PDF. This is helpful to see your athlete's competitors for each event. It also shows an estimated start time for each event and approximately when breaks will occur.
- The SwimTopia app is also helpful during the meet if you purchase the annual "pro" subscription ($10/year). As we enter your swimmer's times, they will update in the app real-time. This is not a requirement and you will still your swimmer's results following the meet if you do not have the subscription.
Finally and most importantly, events such as these are great opportunities to build our children up and cheer them on. Our swimming community grows stronger as we cheer each others kids as well, even those who may struggle to finish an event. Let's be sure to make this a positive memory all around!
We look forward to seeing you Saturday!
