Good Day, NSD Families! Why is it hot again?!

Updates:

• The city cannot open more pools (or provide more pool space) without more lifeguards. As such, if you want a lifeguard job between the hours of 6-8pm Monday - Friday, please send me your name so we can get you in the lengthy HR pipeline to be hired by the city. 
• Huntersville pool is closed until further notice due to maintenance. Practices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be at Southside (Northside still Mondays and Thursdays).
• Our amazing volunteer coaches from ODU Swim are throwing a Thanksgiving Basket Drive, benefiting homeless families in our area. Our team is about giving back to the youth in our community, including those struggling most. Let's show the ODU volunteers what NSD is about and get some baskets going! All baskets should be delivered on Thursday, 11/9 at Northside. See flyer image at the bottom of this message for more info. 

Reminders:

• USA Swimming Families - Please declare your USA swimmer for the 11/10 Carl Warner Meet today. We need to finalize entries this weekend to send to CGBD (hosting team).
• Monday 10/30 6pm - Team Photo Night. Come in your team swimsuit! Be there on time - we will be taking our team photo before the Halloween Party! (link to prepay (NSDSWIM23)).
  
  • Halloween Party following the team photo - bring a lawn chair and candy! 
• Saturday 11/4 - Swim meet! Please go to Meets & Events and declare your swimmer now! All USA and non-USA swimmers may compete! We need volunteers (clerks of course and stroke & turn judges, especially)! Please sign up!
  
  • First Time Parents: If the 11/4 meet is your first swim meet ever, please review all the pages we have under Meets & Events (Meet swimmer prep, How to read Athletes events, volunteer roles). These pages will better help you prepare for the day. More instructions will be provided closer to the event. Welcome to the organized chaos that is a youth swim meet ;-)

• Potluck after the meet - This is a separate RSVP that you must complete on our website (mobile browser works, but not the app!) if you plan to attend and contribute. Please respond by 11/2 so we can finalize logistics.
