week 18 updates & reminders
Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting new year. Love this affirmation that came up on social media a few days ago: I am BIGGER than my doubts, BOLDER than my fears, and STRONGER than my obstacles. Here we go 2024!

It is time to start cleaning up our roster and possibly open up registration to new families that have been waiting on the waitlist. If your family hasn't been able to attend for an extended period, the board will be reaching out to check in. Please remember while we are a recreational team, we do require a minimum attendance of 2-3x/week.
ATTENTION!!
We have an exciting opportunity to attend an ODU swim meet and cheer on our mentor ODU swimmers who have been working with our kids this season. Please try and join us for this event, it will be an amazing gift to both the kids and the ODU kids alike! Meet is January 20th at 12:00 noon and should only last a few hours. The ODU coach is working up some fun surprises for the kids that attend. There is no fee, it will be free to enter. Pool is located at 1510 W 48th St. Norfolk, VA 23508. Parking info will be shared as we get a little closer. I will attach a list (pdf attached) of ODU swimmers that have been working with our NSD kids. It would be amazing if the kids would create a poster cheering them on to bring with them to the meet.
February Intrasquad meet coming up Saturday, February 3rd. This should be a great time for the kids to show off all that they have learned this year and their hard work during practice! This may be our last NSD only meet as we may have an opportunity for a competitive meet in March for our last event of the season against a local team (ECAT). Stay tuned for more details to come!
It may be time to refresh your athletes swim suit and/or gear. Consider ordering a suit from our team store on swimoutlet that doesn't have the logo so that it will ship quickly if your swimmer needs to refresh their suit or size up from the fall.
