Meet Results
Reminder: This is a youth sport and we all must remain committed to be positive and to learn based on the outcomes. Most importantly, events such as these are great opportunities to build our children up and cheer them on. Our swimming community grows stronger as we collectively strive to make these types of events a positive memory all around!
Linked are yesterday's meet results! Well done to all swimmers; many showed improvement from previous attempts at the same event! Some may notice their swimmer actually performed slower from previous attempts (seed time). This can be due to several factors, but please also take account on their practice attendance. Attending practice regularly and/or more frequently is critical for building a swimmer's skill and stamina in order to improve performance.
IMPORTANT: Due to a delay in reviewing disqualifications (DQs), these results are not final; however, we may decide to bypass DQ entry into the system for parents to gain a reference time to see swimmer improvement or have a baseline for first-time events. As such, this may be treated as "unofficial" in our system. Ribbons will still be distributed with an asterisk that legality was not enforced. DQ slips will still be delivered to coaches to work with swimmers throughout the season. Reminder that ribbons are awarded for places 1 through 6 and will be available for pick up next week!
Here's some highlights you should know:

Tie Explanation: Hosting teams have the option in the system to choose either the fastest recorded time when an automatic system is used (e.g., touchpads) or an average of the times between all recording devices when a semi-automatic timing system (e.g., stopwatches or Time Drops buttons) is used (see section 102.23.4B(3) of USA Swimming Rulebook). This meet used two timers per lane with our semi-automatic Time Drops system and below is a screenshot of the times the system recorded for each lane:
So, while lane 4 (relay team B) was 4/100ths of a second faster by one timer's button press, the average overall, calculated by the system in accordance with USA rules, created the first place tie. Again, unprecedented!
