Happy First day of November!  Hopefully everyone has recovered from their sugar rush and enjoyed the Halloween festivities.  Now onto Thanksgiving and Holiday prep! 

Our ECAT October meet was a smashing success.  For anyone on the fence about going in November, you absolutely should.  It was a great meet!  And so welcoming of ECAT to have all of our swimmers be eligible to compete.  All results have been uploaded now and are available in swimtopia.  I have also attached the PDF below.  

A note about DQ's: Please don't look at a DQ as a terrible thing.  Our swimmers are one month into the season.  It's completely fine if they make a mistake and receive a DQ.  It's a learning opportunity and the coaches will work with the swimmers on the specific issues throughout the next month in prep for the November meets.  

All meet entries are coming due really soon, so please check your calendars and declare!  Once I send in the entries to the meet director, it is much harder to add late requests.  If you are on the fence it is better to declare and choose at least one event. Adding extra events day of is much easier than trying to request adding a swimmer who hasn't declared at all.

Reminders: 

• NO PRACTICE on 11/5 the pools are closed for Election Day.  Make sure you vote!
• Free tees are in!  If you missed the handout on picture day, do not worry.  I have your shirts.  I'll be at practice Wed & Thurs next week and can bring them with me.  The following week I will have more availability and can be at almost any night.   
• Remember your water bottles, caps, goggles, and fins at every practice please.  The kids use these training tools almost nightly and goggles and caps are just part of a swimmers wardrobe :)

ODAC Rising Stars November Meet (USA only)

• When: Nov. 16th & 17th
• Where: Brittingham-Midtown Aquatic Center (570 McLawhorne Dr, Newport News, VA 23601)
• Details: Declare here BEFORE 11/5 at 9pm.  
• Fees: (buttons to pay are in the team store and must be paid before 11/14 - please reach out with any questions and we can walk you through it)

1. Entry fee: $5.00
2. 8 & unders: $5.50/event
3. 9 & olders: $10.00/event
4. relay events: $20 total ($5/kid)

ECAT November Invitational (USA & Non-USA) Note: Any of our swimmers can swim in this meet. We have special permission from the VSLL for this meet and our non-usa kids are welcome and invited to participate. There will be a fee to enter and swimmers must be declared by 11/7 and paid by 11/24. Please reach out with any questions.

• Where: East Coast Aquatic Center (5905 Portsmouth Blvd. Portsmouth, VA 23701)
• Details: Declare here BEFORE 11/7 at 9pm
• Fees:

1. Entry fee: $5.00
