If you have a brand new to NSD swimmer, please read:

Our schedule for this week has been affected by city pool closures. For this reason, we are asking that only our brand new to the team swimmers attend tryouts this coming week. Regular season practice will resume next week and all of our return NSD swimmers are welcome to join us starting Tuesday, September 2nd at Southside.

Schedule for tryouts: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY ONLY

• location: Southside Aquatic Center (1750 Campostella Rd. Norfolk, VA 23523)
• 8 & under swimmers: 6-7pm
• 9 & over swimmers: 7-8pm

Notes: There will be 2 board members in the lobby to answer questions and help with registration. There is a form that is required by the pool regardless of whether you decide this is a good fit for your kiddo. So feel free to get them settled with the coaches, then come out and ask questions/fill out forms. If your child would prefer you stay on the pool deck that is totally fine also. Just come find us after! If you have a sibling group but they are different ages, it is fine to bring them to the earlier time slot. The coaches have a lot of kids typically to sort through, so please be patient with them as they assess the kiddos. They will tag them into a swim group and ask the kids to wear their colored bracelets throughout the week (we have plenty if it becomes a nuisance we can absolutely put a new one on throughout the week). You can attend as many of the tryout evenings as your schedule will allow, but formal practice will begin the following week.

If you have a return swimmer to NSD, please read:

Practice begins Tuesday, September 2nd. If your child moved up at the end of last season, please have them attend that level. If you don't know, please bring them to the level they were in last season. Any questions, ask a coach (ideally not in the middle of working with the kids).

REMINDER:

Practice times have adjusted this season. Check the schedule here carefully. We also may be a bit wonky for a bit with pool locations. The city is running some maintenance currently at Northside as well as Huntersville. The Board will send out weekly emails and detail any changes in practice. If a pool closes suddenly, that will come as an alert. Please download the app to your phone and allow notifications. You can also check the website as all communications are posted there as well.
