Welcome families to the first week of practice for the Norfolk Silver Dolphins this season.  Each weekend we send an email with important reminders/updates/notes for the week so please ensure you save us as a contact so that we don't end up in a spam folder.  Also, if you haven't already, please download the swimtopia app, sign in, and allow notifications.  This is how you will get alerts as quick as possible in the event something alters practice.  Now let's get this party started!  

First and foremost.  Here are our locations for the week.  Please NOTE that this is different than our regular pool locations.  Huntersville Pool is undergoing some repairs and so our schedule will not include them for the next few weeks.  

• Tuesday, 9/2/25 Southside -- Intermediate and Advanced only 
  • Intermediate (green group) 6-7pm & Advanced (blue group) 7-8pm
• Wednesday, 9/3/25 Southside -- All Practice levels
  • Beginners (red group) 6-6:30, Intermediate (green group) 6:30-7:10, Advanced (blue group) 7-8pm
• Thursday 9/4/25 Northside --  Intermediate and Advanced only 
  • Intermediate (green group) 6-7pm & Advanced (blue group) 7-8pm
• Friday 9/5/25 Northside -- All practice levels
  • Beginners (red group) 6-6:30, Intermediate (green group) 6:30-7:10, Advanced (blue group) 7-8pm

Norfolk Pool Membership: Remember, every swimmer must have a parks & rec pool pass through the city of Norfolk.  Once you have committed to the team, please stop by the desk of any of our locations and sign up/pay for a pool membership.  It's $20/person or $100/family.  

Gear: I will have the sizing kit at practice any evening that I am there.  So if you see me in the lobby (Amber) come to me with a DRY swimmer BEFORE they get in the water and I can help you determine the appropriate size suit to order.  We're also in the process of setting up our logo with aqua wear in VB but it's not quite finalized just yet.  Any hand me down suits and fins can also be given to me this week.  Gear list here and if you have any questions, just ask!

Read our Swimmer Code of Conduct page and ensure you discuss these items with your swimmer(s). We strive to make NSD a safe and productive environment for everyone.  

Meet our Board of Directors, the volunteer parents who contribute (a lot of) hours to make this team be the best it can be! NOTE: we are still in dire need of a lead Treasurer, if you can fill this role, please reach out to [email protected] or come chat with any of us at practice.  

Meet our Coaches, the brains behind all that skill!  The coaches have been working hard to get us started and ready for a wonderful season.  Please feel free to ask them questions, introduce yourself, etc. Just remember not to interrupt mid coaching, save it for the transition between practice levels.  Soon they'll be offering a quick Q & A for the parents during practice.  More details to come on that.  

Payment: If you registered to pay by check, please feel free to hand to any board member at practice.  Payments due no later than 9/16/25.  If you would like to pay in installments, we have a payment plan option and I can show you how to do that on our website, or by check is also acceptable. 

That's it, congratulations if you made it all the way to end of my rambling.  Also know that I appreciate you :). We have room for MORE SWIMMERS still this season.  Know someone who might be a good fit, let them know to reach out and we can still assess their swimmer over the next few weeks.  Spread the word!  I'm going to attach our flyer both as an image and a pdf again for anyone to share.
