This week the NSD Board of Directors will be holding Parent Meetings to pass important information for the upcoming swim meet. During this meeting you will be asked to sign-up for a role for the first swim meet of the season (see schedule below.) As a reminder, NSD is solely a parent-volunteer run recreational swim team which means the functions and swim meets rely heavily on parent/guardian participation to run smoothly.

This year, in order for your swimmer(s) to be declared and participate in swim meets, at least one household parent /guardian is REQUIRED to fill a role at the swim meet. We do understand that at times there may be a few special circumstances which prevent a parent/guardian from volunteering. If this is the case for your household, please see a Board Member to discuss. Teenagers are also welcome to volunteer as a household member to meet this requirement, and we can sign their high school volunteer forms.

Parent Meetings: The purpose of the meeting is to introduce Board Members to parents, hear from Head Coach Maurice on expectations, provide parents an opportunity to sign-up for swim meet volunteer roles (if they are not already signed up), and field questions from parents.

• Tuesday, 16 September at 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, 17 September at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
• Friday, 19 September at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Swim Meet Volunteer Roles: There are several roles needing to be filled ranging from Clerk of the Course, Shepherd (Zoo Keeper), Concessions Support, Photographer, Runner, Starter, Stroke & Turn Judge, and Timers. Training will be provided, as needed. The descriptions for these roles can be found on SwimTopia.

Upcoming Meet information:

Please see this page for instructions on how to sign-up for a meet. Meet declarations due no later than Tuesday, 23 September. When in doubt, sign your swimmer up! Adding kids last minute really adds a lot of work and stress for the Maestro. It is much easier to remove a swimmer from the meet than to add a swimmer at the last minute.
